This semester, the students recorded the nutritional data for 2 days of their regular diet, followed by 3 days of trying to improve their diet. For the first time, students had to describe why their choices were considered healthier, using Michael Pollan's food rules as a guideline for making better choices. In past the students have primarily used nutrition data for the basis of their study, however after showing that the nutritional data from a healthy meal can look very similar to a meal that is not healthy. Students have done 3 studies using a physical rating, improving their awareness of how they physically feel throughout the day, in addition to recordinmg their blood pressure and heart rate. The hardest part for most students is controlling the amount of sleep, water and exercise throughout the week.

In conclusion, diet can have a big impact on human health. Poor diet can result in a low physical rating, heart rate and blood pressure.

To conclude my prediction was right after consuming healthier foods I felt much better in myself and had more energy. All though I already eat healthy and this didn’t have a major improvement I still felt better in myself.

ReplyDeleteSo the question posed at the beginning of the experiment was, “Will I feel better if I eat healthier.” The answer is no because there is no difference, at least, in me. But it was probably because since I was too lazy to even find new foods, and since my mom only buys cheap food.

ReplyDeleteOver for the study I think I achieved my goals to improve my diet but I can do a lot better. I could start to work out more so I can get rid of the stored up energy I have. I could drink more water because that would help me in school because water helps the brain become more awake and active.
ReplyDeleteI think in the beginning of this whole study, I had to develop a habit of eating healthy. I can get used to making new habits when it comes to basically anything. So it was and wasn’t hard to get into the healthy mode. I also saw improvements as I started eating right and listening more in our studies in class. In the middle of that experimental week I felt completely different. But a very positive different in a way where I felt more energetic and more aware. I hadn’t felt that way since a year ago, before I started eating unhealthy. But now I’ve been feeling like how I used too which is what I was aiming for and I feel younger in a sense of more energy and all the pros to being healthy and well. So in this study I did very much improve all I wanted to achieve.

ReplyDeleteover the study i notived that when i changed the way i ate i did feel better. I also noticed that my heart rate and blood pressure was lowered when i chnaged my diet.
ReplyDeleteIn conclusion, the diet study did improve my health in a positive way. Due to drinking water and eating a healthier breakfast, I felt more awake and energetic in the mornings and throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteIn conclusion, i think the diet study is a good expermient and eye opener, but did it work? I think it did, when i ate healthier i did feel better compared to when i didn't. The only thing i would change is that i ate more healthy like at dinners i could at a healthier alternative then what i had.
